What is an ETF?
ETFs, also known as trackers, are funds that follow the performance of an index, commodity, bond or composition of products. Unlike some other funds, ETFs are bought and sold on a stock exchange. Would you like to learn more about ETFs? Read our ETF article for all you need to know.
Biotech
Biotech explores and develops complex tasks such as speech and image recognition or natural language processing. Digital devices based on biotech are supposed to act and react as similar to humans as possible.
Biotech is widely used in social media and online communications. It can make human intervention unnecessary. A major advantage of biotech applications is that they can work and make decisions independently. Machine learning plays an important role in this: equipment is programmed to learn from its mistakes and improve its performance independently based on as much data and sensors as possible.
biotech has great benefits and potential. Recognising patterns in image and sound while independently taking action on them can improve efficiency in many areas of work. For example, by recognising images and sounds on the road, a self-driving car might soon be able to move through traffic with fewer and fewer mistakes, and without the need for a driver. biotech attempts to replicate, and even improve upon, the human ability to think. In the case of self-driving cars, the goal of this is to remove the chance for human errors and therefore make the world safer. biotech is also being used in healthcare, the military and aerospace: increasingly complex operations can be performed perfectly and without fatigue.
Why invest in biotech ETFs?
Investing in biotech is interesting because this field has the potential to expand greatly. Currently, biotech is still in its infancy. With ever-larger data sets and computing power, complex human intelligence will be able to be mimicked more and more closely. Increasingly sophisticated applications will therefore be possible, and intelligent work will be taken over by machines more and more efficiently.
biotech ETFs invest in companies that are involved in biotech in one way or another. In particular, they are technology companies focused on the development and improvement of data systems, sensors to recognise patterns and the application possibilities of biotech. Examples of biotech companies are Nvidia and AMD.
The ETFs also invest in organisations that use a lot of biotech in their products or manufacturing processes, such as technology companies Tesla, Amazon and Google. Other sectors that use a lot of biotech are telecommunications, social media, consumer products, financials, aerospace, automotive and healthcare.
